Painting Holidays in Ojen (Spain)

Ojen Holidays - Programme

This is a flexible outline for the painting holiday in Spain. Remembering that this is your holiday, we have left the afternoons free. Each student can choose whether to explore the surrounding areas, venture further afield or simply while away the time practising the techniques learnt on the course. If you would like to paint or draw, Jeremy will always be on hand to provide tuition in the studio or outside.

Sunday: Arrival in Ojen

Taxi from the airport to "La Posada del Angel". After settling in, we will have an informal get together in the studio before dining in the village square.

Monday: Creativity Workshop

We will look at ways of "freeing up" our creative side by varying our materials, subject matter and approach.

Tuesday: "Drawing into Painting" Workshop.

We will look at ways to produce effective drawings which turn into paintings.

Wednesday: "Colour Palettes" Workshop

Experimenting with the boundless possibilities opened up by the effective use of colour.

Thursday: Picasso Day in Malaga

A full day including a visit to the fabulous Picasso Museum in Malaga. Don't forget your sketching pad! The pigeons which were Picasso's first life models are still there. Lunch is by the sea at the "El Tintero" where the waiters "auction" the plates. Afterwards why not explore this vibrant city. There are lots of great subjects to sketch and paint, if you can resist the shops and cafes.

Friday: Tone Workshop

You can spare yourself from years of frustration by learning to control tonal values!

Saturday: Final Workshop

During the week dominant themes always come through. This session is left for us to examine something of interest to the group. After lunch the usual one-to-one tuition, followed by drinks before dinner to discuss the week's work.

Sunday: Farewell

Farewell get together. Depart for the airport.
